It was the last field goal the Statesmen netted in the session. The Thoroughbreds (6-9, 1-3) ended the half on a 19-1 run, taking a 26-15 lead into halftime.

Altimar connected on a layup to start the second half scoring, but then it was Skidmore’s turn to go stone cold. Eighteen unanswered points put Hobart back in front, 33-28. Estep tied the game with a traditional three-point play with 13:43 left.

Haviland-Markowitz ended the Thoroughbreds 10-minute scoring drought, but seven more unanswered points, including five from Estep, put the Statesmen lead into double digits. Estep finished the night 9-of-14 from the floor, including 4-of-7 from behind the arc.

Skidmore made one last push to get back in the game. Altimar hit a three with four minutes remaining to make it a five-point game, 46-41, but Hobart ended the contest with a 12-1 push.

The Statesmen are back in action on Jan. 26, when they travel to Union for a 4 p.m. tipoff. Live stats of the game will be available on the Union Web site.
