Hobart, one of six remaining unbeaten teams in the country, owns an 11-0-0 overall record and a 3-0-0 conference mark heading into this weekend's action. The Statesmen are led by senior forward
Dan Riso (Red Hook/Red Hook, N.Y.), who paces the Liberty League in goals (7) and points (17), and senior goalkeeper
Pete Van Dellon (Webster Thomas/Webster, N.Y.), who tops the league with a 0.54 goals against average and six shutouts.
The Dutchmen come to Geneva with a 6-2-1 overall record and a 1-1-0 Liberty League mark. Last season, Union handed Hobart its first loss of the year, prevailing 4-0 in Schenectady. The Statesmen have not defeated the Dutchmen since their 2-1 victory at Union in 2003, but the last time the Dutchmen came to Geneva (2006), the two teams played to a scoreless draw.
Skidmore enters the weekend at 7-3-2 and 1-1-0 in the league. The Thoroughbreds will stop to play Hamilton on Friday before making their way to Geneva. Three of the last five matches between Hobart and Skidmore have ended in a tie. The last time the Statesmen defeated the Thoroughbreds was in 2004, a 4-1 win in Geneva.
Hobart will have one more regular season home game this fall, Oct. 15 vs. Ithaca, before hitting the road for its final four contests.
