Box Score GENEVA, N.Y.—Sophomore forward Brelynn Nasypany (Herkimer/Herkimer, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal to lift the seventh-ranked Heron soccer team over Union 1-0 in Liberty League action this afternoon. William Smith improved to 9-1-1 overall and 4-0-0 in the league, while the Dutchwomen fell to 8-3-1 on the season and 2-1-0 in the conference.
Nasypany's goal came at the 64 minute, 10 second mark. She booted a free kick directly in front of the goal past Union goalkeeper Abby Stohler for her 10th goal of the season, and her Liberty League-leading sixth game-winner.
William Smith first-year goalkeeper Amanda Davis (Roxbury/Succasunna, N.J.) collected six saves in her third shutout of the year, while Stohler finished with five saves.
The Herons held a 14-7 advantage in shots, while the Dutchwomen had a slight 5-4 advantage in corner kick opportunities.
