Box Score CLINTON, N.Y.—The ninth-ranked William Smith College soccer team upset fifth-ranked Hamilton College 2-1 in Liberty League action this afternoon on Love Field. The Herons improved to 7-1-1 on the season and 3-0-0 in the league, while the Continentals suffered their first loss, dropping to 6-1-1 overall and 1-1-1 in conference play.

Rayza Santiago (Webster Schroeder/Webster, N.Y.) scored her first goal of the season on a penalty kick, 14 minutes, 59 seconds into the match, to give the Herons an early 1-0 lead.
Less than 10 minutes later, at 23:48, Hamilton's Erica Dressler netted the equalizer, and her league-leading ninth goal of the season. The match remained locked at 1-all at halftime.
Heron sophomore forward
Brelynn Nasypany (Herkimer/Herkimer, N.Y.) broke through in the 68th minute to score the unassisted game-winner. The tally marked her eighth goal of the season, and league-leading fifth game-winner.
William Smith held a slight advantage in shots (8-7) and shots on goal (6-4), while Hamilton held the advantage in corner kick opportunities (4-0).
First-year Heron goalkeeper
Amanda Davis (Roxbury/Sucassunna, N.J.) earned her second win of the season, recording two saves. Continental goalie Kate Fowler picked up four saves.
William Smith will be back in action on Oct. 7, when the Herons travel to RIT for a non-league contest at 4 p.m.
