William Smith College will host the 2008 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament Third and Quarterfinal rounds Nov. 22-23 on Cozzens Field. The fifth-ranked Herons will take on seventh-ranked Johns Hopkins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, followed by ninth-ranked Amherst squaring off against 16th-ranked Otterbein at 1:30 p.m. On Sunday the winners will play for a spot in the NCAA semifinal round at 1 p.m.
All three games will have
live stats available online, and any matches the Herons play in will be broadcast by
WHWS-FM (105.7). Ticket prices are $6, $3 for senior citizens and students with a valid ID, and $2 for children ages 3-12. Children under 2 are free.
William Smith advanced to the third round by defeating Keuka 2-0 in the first round, and winning a penalty kick shootout 4-3 after playing Endicott to a 1-1 draw in the second. The Herons have been led offensively by Liberty League Player of the Year, sophomore
Brelynn Nasypany (Herkimer/Herkimer, N.Y.). She boasts 13 goals and four assists on the year. Defensively, first-year goalkeeper
Amanda Davis (Roxbury/Succasunna, N.J.) ranks second in the nation in goals against average (0.256), and ranks third with a .923 save percentage.
