Saints top Statesmen 69-58

Box Score CANTON, N.Y.--Senior forward John Grazioli scored a game-high 19 points, but its wasn't enough to lift Hobart over St. Lawrence. The Saints dominated the offensive and defensive glass en route to a 69-58 Liberty League win.

First-year guard Rob Estep (West York/York, Pa.) also reached double digits for the Statesmen (10-11, 5-5), producing 10 points.

Tyler Shaver and Tyler Wright paced St. Lawrence (14-8, 9-2) with 14 and 12 points, respectively. The Saints outrebounded Hobart 51-29 led by Josh Sharlow's game-high 11.

Grazioli scored the first six points of the game to stake the visitors to an early lead, but the Saints countered with 10 unanswered points to take the lead for good. SLU led by as many as 17 in the first half before carrying a 34-18 lead into halftime.

First-year guard Brad Tramontozzi hit a three-pointer for Hobart with 1:28 remaining to pull the Statesmen within nine, 67-58. It was the closest Hobart got in the second half.

The Statesmen are back in action at 4 p.m. on Feb. 16, when they visit Clarkson.
