ORLANDO, Fla.—The William Smith College tennis team defeated Wisconsin-Eau Claire 6-3, and improved to 3-1 on the season. The Blugolds fell to 10-6 in dual match play.

Amanda Slack (Cape Elizabeth/Cape Elizabeth, Maine) led off at first singles, defeating Blugold Sarah Riordan 6-3, 6-4. Junior
Chelsea Rauck (Columbus School for Girls/Bexley, Ohio) won handily at No. 2 singles, downing Gina Dahl 6-2, 6-1, before teaming up with sophomore
Shari Damon (Honeoye Falls-Lima/Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) to defeat Riordan and Dahl 8-5 at No. 1 doubles.
Senior
Erinn Cain (Pal-Mac/Palmyra, N.Y.) also helped notch the victory for the Herons. She won 6-2, 7-6 at fifth singles, and joined sophomore
Meredith Levenson (Andover/Andover, Mass.) for a 9-7 victory at third doubles. First-year
Gaby Berkman (Champlain Valley Union/Shelburne, Vt.) was the other William Smith winner, topping Emma Grosse 6-1, 6-3 at No. 6 singles.
The Herons will be in action again March 21, when they take on Augustana (S.D.) at noon for their final match in Florida.
