Box Score BROCKPORT, N.Y.—The 14th-ranked Hobart College soccer team defeated Brockport 1-0 this afternoon on A. Huntley Field. The Statesmen remain undefeated at 5-0-0 overall, while the Golden Eagles dropped to 2-2-0 on the season.
Hobart scored the lone goal of the day in the first half. First-year defender
Anthony Rozmus (Our Lady of Lourdes/Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) recorded his first collegiate tally, as he connected on a crossed ball from first-year midfielder
Clancy Purcell (Shelton/Shelton, Conn.). Purcell has assisted on five of the Statesmen's nine goals so far this season.
Senior goalkeeper
Pete Van Dellon (Webster Thomas/Webster, N.Y.) collected eight saves, picking up his third shutout of the year, while Brockport goalie Craig Waasdorp notched nine saves.
The Golden Eagles outshot their visitors 21-17. Brockport also held a slight 7-6 advantage in corner kick opportunities.
The Statesmen will be back in action on Tues., Sept. 16, when they travel to Rochester to take on St. John Fisher at 7 p.m.
