Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y.—The seventh-ranked Hobart College soccer team defeated St. John Fisher 2-1 tonight in a non-league match at Growney Stadium. The Statesmen remain unbeaten with a 6-0-0 overall record, while the Cardinals fall to 1-5-0 on the season.
St. John Fisher jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, after Luke Lennox found Michael Rooney for the score just 3 minutes, 12 seconds into the contest.
Hobart got on the board in the 41st minute. First-year forward
Tommy Hayes (St. Anthony's/East Northport, N.Y.) recorded his first collegiate tally, set up by first-year midfielder
Michael Moulton (Providence Country Day/Coventry, R.I.), to even the game at 1-all.
Less than three minutes later, senior forward
Dan Riso (Red Hook/Red Hook, N.Y.) found the back of the net for his fifth goal of the year, giving the Statesmen the lead. He was assisted by first-year midfielder
Chris King (Hauppauge/Hauppauge, N.Y.).

Pete Van Dellon (Webster Thomas/Webster, N.Y.) collected five saves in net, while the Cardinals' Adam Durst picked up seven. The Statesmen outshot their hosts 20-8.
Hobart will be back in action on Sept. 20, when it travels back to Rochester to face the Yellowjackets at 1:30 p.m.
