Herons hold steady at No. 11

GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith College field hockey team remained at No. 11 in the latest edition of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll. The Herons are undefeated and have outscored their opposition 14-1 this season.

Junior forward Kaitlyn Hamilton (Harpursville/Harpursville, N.Y.) leads the team in assists (2) and points (8) and shares the team lead in goals (3) with her sister, first-year forward Kiersten Hamilton (Harpursville/Harpursville, N.Y.).

Defensively, senior goalie Katie DeKraker (Staples/Westport, Conn.) has not allowed a goal in more than 198 minutes of play and has been named the Liberty League Co-Defensive Performer of the Week in each of the past two weeks.

The Herons are back in action on Sept. 17 when they host Ithaca at 5 p.m. The Bombers (2-2) defeated William Smith last season, 2-1 in overtime in Ithaca.
