Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y.—The eighth-ranked William Smith College soccer team tied 25th-ranked Rochester 0-0 in double overtime tonight at Fauver Stadium. The Herons move to 4-1-1 on the season, while the Yellowjackets now stand at 3-1-2 overall.

Amanda Davis (Roxbury/Sucasunna, N.J.) made a clutch save in the final minutes of the second overtime period to preserve the scoreless tie. Rochester's Ellen Coleman broke free from the defense with 1 minute, 30 seconds remaining. Coleman drove the end line, taking a shot from about 3 yards out which began to curve into the goal, but Davis was there to deflect the ball away with her hand.
The Herons had their best opportunity to score on a corner kick with just over 10 minutes remaining in regulation. First-year
Deana Melnyczuk (Marcellus/Syracuse, N.Y.) headed the corner kick past Yellowjacket goalkeeper Celeste Hornbach, but Kirsten Ross was there to clear the ball off the goal line and record the team save.
Rochester outshot the Herons 12-3. Davis finished with six saves for William Smith, while Hornbach picked up one stop for the Yellowjackets.
William Smith will be back in action on Sept. 26, when it opens Liberty League play at Clarkson at 4 p.m.
