Box Score BUFFALO, N.Y.—The sixth-ranked Hobart College soccer team defeated Medaille College 1-0 tonight in non-league action at All High Stadium. The Statesmen remain undefeated on the season with a 10-0-0 overall record, while the Mavericks drop to 6-5-0 overall.
The two teams battled it out in pouring rain, playing to a scoreless first half. Finally, first-year midfielder
Chris King (Hauppauge/Hauppauge, N.Y.) broke through in the second stanza with his first collegiate tally. He netted the unassisted game-winner at the 53 minute, 8 second mark.
The Mavericks outshot the Statesmen 18-12, with a slight 6-5 advantage in shots on goal, while Hobart had a 7-4 advantage in corner kick opportunities.

Pete Van Dellon (Webster Thomas/Webster, N.Y.) picked up five saves en route to his fifth shutout of the season, while Medaille goalie Ryan Goettel made four stops.
The Statesmen will be in action again on Oct. 4, when they host Liberty League opponent Hamilton at 2 p.m.
