Box Score The Hobart College hockey team defeated Geneseo 4-1 tonight in non-league action at The Cooler. The ninth-ranked Statesmen improve to 12-4-0 overall, while the Knights fall to 10-6-1 on the season.

Greg Ciciola (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) for a power play goal at 16:44 to put the Statesmen up 2-0. The Knights answered less than a minute later on a tally from Michael Forgione, cutting their deficit to 2-1. Dan Brown and Sebastian Panetta recorded the helpers for Geneseo.

Blake Bonham (Toronto, Ontario) netted Hobart's third goal of the game with five minutes left in regulation, and sophomore forward
Christopher Bower (Chevy Chase, Md.) added an empty net goal with 30 seconds remaining to secure the victory. Senior forward
Jason Merritt (Chapel Hill, N.C.) and Miller assisted on Bonham's goal, while senior defenseman
Michael Steiner (Shaker Heights, Ohio) picked up the helper on Bower's.
The Statesmen posted a slight 38-33 advantage in shots. They were 1-for-5 on power play opportunities, while the Knights were 0-for-4.

Keith Longo (Milford, Mass.) collected 32 stops, while Cory Gershon recorded 34 saves for Geneseo.
The Statesmen will be back in action on Jan. 23, when they host Lebanon Valley for an ECAC West contest at 7 p.m.
