#17 Statesmen down Bombers 3-0

Box Score ITHACA, N.Y.—The 17th-ranked Hobart College soccer team defeated Ithaca 3-0 on Carp Wood Field this afternoon. The Statesmen improve to 10-1-2 on the season, while the Bombers drop to 4-5-3 overall.

Hobart's first goal of the day came in the 23rd minute of action. Sophomore Tommy Hayes put back the rebound on his own shot for his fourth tally of the year.

Twenty-two minutes into the second half, sophomore Tony Yeboah put the Statesmen up 2-0 with his third goal of the season. He split two defenders and snuck a shot to the far post past Ithaca goalie Evan Kirschner.

First-year Alex Kittelberger gave Hobart a 3-0 cushion in the 75th minute, after notching his fourth goal of the year. He connected on a loose ball in front of the net after a long throw-in from senior Matt Geswell (Carmel/Patterson, N.Y.).

The Statesmen held a slight 13-12 edge in total shots, and took three corner kicks to the Bombers' two.

Hobart sophomore goalkeeper Charlie Hale collected four saves en route to his eighth shutout of the season, while Kirschner finished with eight stops.
