Box Score GENEVA, N.Y.—The 17th-ranked Hobart College soccer team fell to Oneonta State 2-1 this afternoon on Cozzens Field. The Statesmen slip to 10-2-2 overall, while the Red Dragons improve to 10-3-1 on the season.
Oneonta struck first, in the 19th minute of action. Nicholas Lange sent a lead pass to Evan Jedynak for a shot from the top right corner of the 5-yard box. Jedynak's shot snuck by Hobart sophomore goalie
Charlie Hale and into the lower left corner of the net.
The Red Dragons took a 2-0 lead a few minutes after halftime, as Ian Tenzer broke loose from the Statesmen defense and took a shot from about 18 yards out that found the bottom left corner of the goal.
Hobart got on the board in the 58th minute. Junior

Alex Kittelberger knocked over the head of Red Dragon goalkeeper Jonathan Korn. The tally marked Kittelberger's team-high fifth of the year.
The Statesmen had opportunities to score throughout the game. In the first half, they nearly scored after a corner kick from sophomore
Nate Bechtold. Sophomore
Tommy Hayes took a shot that Korn saved but couldn't control and the ball deflected into the crossbar. Korn was able to punch the ball out before Hobart could capitalize. Immediately after, Bechtold took a shot on the loose ball, but Korn again came up with the stop.
The Statesmen held a huge 15-2 advantage in corner kicks, and owned a 19-6 edge in shots, including 15 in the second half.
Hale finished with two saves on the day, while Korn stopped five shots for the Red Dragons.
Hobart will be back in action on Oct. 24, when the Statesmen travel to Skidmore for a Liberty League match at 3 p.m.
