Box Score GENEVA, N.Y.—The 13th-ranked Hobart College hockey team used a seven-goal second period to top ECAC West foe Lebanon Valley 9-1 tonight at The Cooler. It's the first time in program history the Statesmen have tallied seven times in one period. Hobart improves to 3-2-1 overall and 1-1-0 in the ECAC West, while the Flying Dutchmen slip to 0-6-0 on the year and 0-3-0 in the conference.

Bower sparked the flurry of Statesmen goals in the second period, scoring back-to-back goals in the sixth and eighth minutes. His first goal was the eventual game-winner; he's tallied all three of Hobart's game-winning goals this season.
Cannizzaro picked up where Bower left off, netting his first of the night in the 10th minute. Lebanon Valley got in on the scoring with its only goal of the contest at 10:11, as William Brown set up Brad Surdam to cut Hobart's lead to 4-1. Just 23 seconds later, senior Statesman
Blake Bonham found the back of the net for his first tally of the year, putting his team back up by four.
Cannizzaro added goals in the 13th and 18th minutes, sandwiching a tally by Organ at 13:36. Organ went on to cap the scoring with the only goal of the third period, capitalizing on a power play in the final minute.
Hobart first-year goalie Martin Ausserhofer collected 26 saves in his first collegiate start. Rich Drazin picked up 19 saves for the Flying Dutchmen, while Matthew Turner recorded 17 stops in relief.
The Statesmen outshot their visitors 45-27, and went 3-for-7 on the power play. Lebanon Valley was 0-for-6.
Hobart will be back in action tomorrow, Nov. 14, when the Statesmen host defending national champion Neumann for another ECAC West game at 7 p.m.
