Box Score GENEVA, N.Y.—The 13th-ranked Hobart College hockey team tied sixth-ranked Neumann 5-5 in overtime tonight at The Cooler. The Statesmen now stand at 3-2-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the ECAC West, while the Knights move to 2-2-2 on the season and 0-2-2 in the league.
First-year
Chris Cannizzaro scored his team-high seventh goal of the season with 2 minutes, 44 seconds left in the third period to break a 4-all tie and give the Statesmen a late 5-4 lead. Neumann pulled goalie Ross MacKinnon in a last-ditch effort to force overtime, and it paid off when Matthew Valois netted the game-tying goal with 23 seconds remaining. After a scoreless overtime period, the game would end in a 5-all draw.
The Statesmen took a 2-1 lead into the first break, thanks to tallies from junior
Matthew Wallace and first-year
Brad Richard in the fourth and 13th minutes, respectively. Richard finished with a team-high three points on a goal and two assists. The Knights' first period goal was scored by Jake Kratz.

Blake Bonham to reclaim the lead, 3-2.
Marlon Gardner tied the game again on a power play in the seventh minute, and Kratz followed with his second goal of the night on another power play in the eighth minute to give the Knights their only lead of the night, 4-3.
Statesmen junior
Danny Organ notched his sixth goal of the season at the 18:50 mark of the second period, once again tying the game, 4-all.
Hobart held a slight 49-41 advantage in shots. The Statesmen were 3-for-8 on the power play, while the Knights were 2-for-7.
First-year goaltender
Nick Broadwater collected 36 saves in net for Hobart, while MacKinnon finished with 44 stops for Neumann.
The Statesmen will be in action again on Nov. 20, when they host ECAC West rival Elmira at 7 p.m.
