Annie Kietzman and cruised to a 4-0 victory over Oneonta State this afternoon. The Herons improved to 4-0 with the win, while the Red Dragons fall to 0-5.
William Smith needed less than four minutes to open the afternoon's scoring. Junior
Emily Atwan finished a feed from senior
Kaitlyn Hamilton at the 3:13 mark. Less than three minutes later, Keitzman doubled the advantage off an assist from sophomore
Kiersten Hamilton. The Herons carried their 2-0 advantage into halftime, despite being outshot 9-8.
William Smith's scoreless drought spanned nearly 45 minutes before Kietzman scored again, this time off a pass from senior
Janelle Walkley, to give the Herons a 3-0 advantage. Less than two minutes later, Walkley closed the scoring set up by
Kiersten Hamilton.
Junior goalie
Chelsea Snyder earned the win with six saves in 52 minutes of work, while first-year
Taryn Little made one stop in relief. Oneonta got five saves from Leslie Dauphinais.
William Smith ended the game with a 14-13 advantage in shots and an 8-7 edge in penalty corners.
The Herons are back in action at 5 p.m. on Sept. 16, when they host Ithaca.
