The Hobart College soccer team slipped a few spots to No. 19 in the latest edition of the National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) ranking. The Statesmen, previously ranked sixth, split their first two Liberty League matches of the season over the weekend.
Hobart defeated Vassar 1-0 in double-overtime on Friday, after a cross from sophomore
Michael Moulton found the head of first-year
Alex Kittelberger for the game-winning goal in the 102nd minute. The goal marked Kittelberger's second of the season. The following day, the Statesmen suffered their first loss of the season to then 14th-ranked Rensselaer 3-1.
Hobart is the third-ranked team in the East Region according to the NSCAA. The squad is also ranked 15th in the nation in this week's D3Soccer.com poll.
The Statesmen (6-1-1) will be back on Cozzens Field today, Sept. 29, when they take on Medaille (8-1-1) at 4:30 p.m. Fans unable to make it to the game can listen live on
