Box Score GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College hockey team lost to 14th-ranked Wentworth 4-2 tonight in non-conference action at The Cooler. The Statesmen drop to 7-8-2 on the season, while the Leopards improve to 12-1-1 overall.

Chris Cannizzaro led Hobart with a goal and an assist, while classmate
Ryan Corcoran added two helpers. Cannizzaro scored the first goal of the game on a power play in the eighth minute. He was assisted by Corcoran and junior
Patrick Moriarty. The goal marked Cannizzaro's team-high 10th of the season.
Less than five minutes later, Wentworth got on the board. First-year Anthony Principato recorded the tally, set up by Shaun Jameson and Forrest Ellis.
The Leopards went on to strike first in the second period, thanks to a power-play goal from Michael O'Brien in the 17th minute. Principato and Shaun Jameson recorded the helpers, putting the visitors up 2-1.
It didn't take long for the Statesmen to answer, as Cannizzaro and Corcoran found senior
Bryant Harris for a power-play goal in the 19th minute. The teams took the 2-2 tie into the final break.
Wentworth scored again just 3:53 into the third period, and fought hard to keep the lead. Senior Jeff Olitch netted the eventual game-winner, with Skylar Jameson picking up the assist. Shaun Jameson would go on to score on Hobart's empty net with 37 seconds remaining in regulation, giving his team a 4-2 edge.
The Statesmen held a 50-43 advantage in shots, and were 2-for-6 on power play opportunities. Wentworth was 1-for-6 on the power play.
First-year goalie
Nick Broadwater collected 39 stops for Hobart, while first-year Michael Jarboe registered 48 saves for the Leopards.
The Statesmen will be back in action Jan. 22-23, when they travel to Neumann for two ECAC West contests.
