Statesmen play to 0-0 tie with Oneonta

ONEONTA, N.Y.—
The Hobart College soccer team played through two overtime periods to a 0-0 tie with Oneonta in a non-league game this afternoon. The Statesmen are now 6-5-3 overall, while the Red Dragons are now 9-3-3.

Oneonta held a 16-14 edge in shots, and Hobart recorded an 8-4 lead in corner kicks. Junior goalie Charlie Hale finished with five saves in goal for the Statesmen, including one in each overtime period. Sophomore Giancarlo Colansanti had one save, and junior Maxwell Siegelman tallied five in goal for Oneonta.

In the 99th minute, junior Tony Yeboah fired a shot on goal, but Siegelman was there to make the save. Senior Justin Dotzman  took a shot one minute, 19 seconds later that was also saved. In the second overtime period, senior Kevin McCarthy took two shots, however the first went wide and the second one sailed over the goal.

The Statesmen will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 23, when they host St. Lawrence for a Liberty League game beginning at 3 p.m.
