Emily Atwan led the Herons with a five-point performance.
Atwan opened the scoring in the eighth minute, knocking home a pass from sophomore
Annie Kietzman. Two minutes later, Atwan returned the favor, setting up Kietzman, to double the lead. Atwan completed her five-point night in the 29th minute driving home her own rebound for a 3-0 halftime lead.
William Smith (1-0) opened the flood gates in the second half, pouring in three goals in a five-minute span. Junior
Kiersten Hamilton started the run in the 50th minute, taking a shot from the middle of the circle that deflected off a defender's stick into the top of the cage. Three minutes later, senior
Tempe Newson finished a cross from sophomore
Claire Manchester for a 5-0 lead. Two minutes after that, first-year
Taylor Cappello pushed home a pass from sophomore
Sara Helmer.
In the 66th minute, Newson posted her second goal of the night, tapping home a shot by Cappello, to close out the scoring.

Chelsea Snyder made one stop in relief.
Oswego's senior goalie Jamie Scharfe made 10 saves, while senior Sara Budde added a defensive save.
William Smith owned a decisive 26-8 advantage in shots, while the Lakers (0-1) had a slim 5-4 edge in penalty corners.
