#12 Hobart wins 4th straight over Union

SCHENECTADY, N.Y.—Senior Lukas Petersen scored the game-winning goal to lead the #12 Hobart College soccer team a 1-0 win over host Union in a Liberty League match played this afternoon. The Statesmen improved to 14-2-0 and 5-2-0 in the conference.

Senior Charlie Hale played all 90 minutes in goal for Hobart. He finished with four saves and earned his sixth shutout. It was the team's ninth clean sheet this season.

Petersen broke a scoreless tie in the 71st minute. Sophomore Kaeghan Kelly booted a corner kick into the box for the Statesmen. Petersen jumped over a pile in front of the goal, and sent a header into the back of the net. He ranks second on the team with four goals. Kelly leads Hobart with four assists.

The Statesmen and the Dutchmen (11-3-1, 2-3-1 Liberty) each registered 11 shots. Hobart held a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks. Adam Margulies finished with five saves in goal for Union.

The Statesmen will be back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 25, when they host Fredonia for a non-conference match beginning at 4 p.m.
