Renee Jensen scored two goals to lead the No. 2 William Smith soccer team to its 11th shutout of the year with a 3-0 win over host St. Lawrence in a Liberty League match played this afternoon. The Herons improved to 11-0-1 and 5-0-0 in the Liberty League, while the Saints are now 5-3-2 and 2-1-1 in league play.
Jensen started things off 10:33 into the match, when she took a pass from senior
Jamie Sawyer at the top of the box. Jensen then dribbled in, and sent a shot into the back of the goal for her first tally of the season.
Jensen struck again in the 56th minute this time off an assist from first-year
Dineo Mmutla. Jensen fired a shot from the top of the box into the top right corner of the goal. Mmutla now leads William Smith with three helpers this fall. Junior
Whitney Frary broke open the game with 4:30 remaining, capitalizing on a penalty kick. She leads the team with seven goals this season with three coming on penalty kicks.

Amanda Davis stopped the two shots she faced in all 90 minutes to earn her eighth shutout this fall. St. Lawrence's Abby van Geldern finished with 14 saves.
The Herons enjoyed a commanding 24-7 advantage in shots. Each team recorded three corner kicks.
William Smith will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 14, when they travel to take on Bard in a Liberty League match slated for 4 p.m.
