RYE, N.Y.—The Hobart hockey team scored two goals in the opening 6:50 of the game and went on to blank Manhattanville 4-0 in an ECAC West game played tonight at the Valiants' Playland Ice Casino. Four different Statesmen scored in the win.
Hobart (1-1, 1-0 ECAC West) earned its first win of the season in its first conference game this year. It was Manhattanville's season and conference opener.

Peter Ryan started off the scoring just 4:09 into the first period. He notched what proved to be the game-winner off assists from Ciciola and O'Neill. It was Ryan's first collegiate goal. Just 2:41 later, first-year

After a scoreless second period, Hobart blew open the game with two goals in the third. First-year
Ian Coleman recorded his first collegiate goal at 14:32 in the final period to put the Statesmen up 3-0. Junior

Frank Salituro capitalized on a power-play, scoring on an empty net with two minutes left in the game for the final. It was his first goal this season. Ciciola earned the assist.
The Valiants pulled their goalie for the 1:35, but could not get on the scoreboard. Pierre Oliver Lemieux stopped 25 shots in 58:25 in goal for Manhattanville. The Valiants held a slight 30-29 edge in shots. Hobart was 2-for-8 on the power play, while Manhattanville went 0-for-9.
The Statesmen will be back in action tomorrow night, Nov. 5, when they travel to take on Salve Regina in a non-conference game beginning at 7 p.m.
