Hobart hockey welcomes back alumni this weekend

On Saturday, Jan. 21, the Hobart hockey team will take on Potsdam for a non-conference game at The Cooler. The Statesmen will also welcome back hockey alumni for their annual Alumni Weekend.

The weekend includes an alumni game at The Cooler at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, as well as social gatherings for alums making the trip back to Geneva. The current Statesmen will then take on the Bears at 7 p.m.

Hobart has posted a 9-7 overall record and looks to pick up its third straight win on Saturday. Senior Greg Ciciola leads the team with 14 points on eight goals and six assists. Junior Frank Salituro is right behind him with seven goals and five assists this winter. First-year Terrence O'Neill shares a team-high with six assists. Junior goalie Marty Ausserhofer leads the ECAC West with a 2.13 goals against average and ranks second with a .917 save percentage.

Potsdam brings a 6-8-2 overall mark into the weekend. The Bears will take on Morrisville on Friday night before coming to The Cooler. Entering the weekend, Sy Nutkevitch leads Potsdam with 27 points on six goals and 21 assists. Adam Place has logged a team-high eight goals this winter. Dylan Ellis has seen the most minutes in goal and has recorded a 4.45 goals against average and a .887 save percentage.
