Box Score The Hobart College basketball team came up three points short in its season debut, losing 71-68 to Dickinson College in the Homewood Suites Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Messiah College. Junior forward Richie Bonney scored a career-high 26 points to pace the Statesmen.

Bonney was 11-of-19 from the floor and made all four of his free throw attempts while corralling seven rebounds. Senior guard Stefan Thompson added a double-double on 16 points, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range, and a game-high 11 assists. Sophomore Connor Rehbaum added 11 points and senior forward Sean Peer pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.

The Statesmen led by as many as eight points in the first half, but the Red Devils rallied to cut their deficit to just one by halftime, 32-31. Hobart opened the second half on a 17-7 run to stretch its advantage to a game-high 11. Dickinson responded with a 17-4 run to take a 57-55 lead with 5:39 remaining.

Bonney converted a layup with 72 seconds to go tying the score at 64 apiece. Brandon Angradi answered with a 3-pointer for Dickinson to give the Red Devils the lead for good. Rezin Davis and Peer both made baskets down the stretch that made it a 1-point game, but each time Dickinson made a pair of free throws at the other end of the floor to keep Hobart at arm's length.

Hobart will face either Keystone or Messiah in the consolation game of the Homewood Suites Tip-Off Tournament at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17.
