GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart junior 
Nick Broadwater stopped all 34 shots that he faced as the Statesmen blanked Manhattanville 3-0 tonight in an ECAC West game played at The Cooler. It was Broadwater's second shutout this season.
Broadwater's first shutout of the year also came against Manhattanville back on Nov. 4 in Rye, N.Y. It is Broadwater's sixth career shutout, which puts him second on the all-time Hobart list. Keith Longo '08 ranks first with eight.
The Statesmen (13-10-1 overall, 4-6-1 ECAC West) scored two goals in the second period and added another in the third to secure the victory. First-years 
Tommaso Traversa and 
Ian Coleman and sophomore 
Tommy Fiorentino each recorded two points. Traversa notched two assists, while Coleman and Fiorentino produced a goal and an assist apiece.The Valiants fall to 13-7-3 and 6-5-0 in the conference.
After a scoreless first period, junior 
Frank Salituro put the Statesmen on the scoreboard just 22 seconds into the second. Junior 
Harry Radovich dumped a pass from the point to Salituro who was waiting at the right post. He slid the puck into the goal for his team-leading 10th tally this season. With 25 seconds remaining in the middle period, Fiorentino made it 2-0 when he tipped in a pass from Coleman. Traversa also earned an assist on the play. It was Fiorentino's sixth goal this year.
The Valiants fought hard in the final period, out shooting the Statesmen 16-2. With a little over seven minutes left in regulation, Manhattanville had flurry of scoring chances. One of the Valiants banged a shot off the post, and almost immediately after another sent a shot at the net that was swatted away a diving Fiorentino.
At 17:01 in the third, Coleman stretched the Statesmen's lead to three with his second goal of the season off passes from Fiorentino and Traversa. Manhattanville pulled its goalie with 1:49 remaining for the extra skater, but was unable to capitalize.
Pierre Oliver Lemieux played all 60 minutes in goal for Manhattanville and stopped 22 shots. The Statesmen were 0-for-2 on the power-play, and the Valiants finished 0-for-5. Manhattanville held a 34-25 advantage in shots.
Manhattanville and Hobart will meet again tomorrow, Feb. 18 at 4 p.m. for another ECAC West contest in The Cooler.
