The Hobart hockey team will combine efforts with Elmira College for a Wounded Warrior Project Weekend on Friday, Feb. 10 and Saturday, Feb. 11. In a home-and-home ECAC West series, the Statesmen will host the Soaring Eagles at The Cooler at 7 p.m. on Friday, and on Saturday Hobart will make the trip to play at Elmira at 7 p.m.
On Friday night, the Statesmen will wear camouflage jerseys to raise money and awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). After the game, the special edition jerseys will be sold for $100 each, and all funds will go to WWP. Please contact Hobart Hockey Operations Assistant Andrew Mason (andrewm.mason@hws.edu) to put in your order. On Saturday evening, the Soaring Eagles will sport their own camouflage jerseys to support the cause.
Since 2007, Hobart Hockey Helpers have worked to assist the WWP, a non-profit organization committed to supporting severely injured U.S. military personnel when they return home from service in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other areas around the world.
All veterans and active military members will receive free admission to Friday night's game at The Cooler. Prior to the game a local veteran will start things off with a ceremonial puck drop.
Throughout the night, the Statesmen will be selling Hobart hockey apparel to raise money for all of the causes Hobart Hockey Helpers are working to support this year. To continue the ongoing partnership with Project Eye-to-Eye, Hobart hockey sweatshirts will be sold for $50 each. All of the proceeds go to Project Eye-to-Eye, a non-profit organization that mentors students with learning disabilities.
