Kelly scores lone goal, Hobart tops Ithaca 1-0

Box Score Hobart College first-year Charlie Kelly scored the lone goal of the game to lead the Statesmen to a 1-0 win over Ithaca College in a non-league match played this afternoon in Ithaca, N.Y.

At 24:09 into the match, Kelly sent home a shot after a pass from junior Bernard Abagali. It proved to be all Hobart (5-4-0) would need to defeat the Bombers. Kelly leads the Statesmen with five goals and 11 points this season. Abagali shares a team-high with three assists. Junior goalie Mike Lucas played all 90 minutes in goal and made five saves to secure the shutout.

Ithaca (1-7-0) held a 19-14 edge in total shots and a 5-4 lead in corners. Jordan Gentile played all 90 minutes in goal for Ithaca. He finished with three saves.

The Statesmen will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 4, when they host Vassar for a Liberty League match at 4 p.m.
