Hobart soccer to play in ECAC Metro tournament

The Hobart College soccer team received a bid to compete in the 2013 ECAC Metro Men's Soccer Tournament. The Statesmen are the No. 5 seed and will play No. 4 Sage on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 1 p.m.

Drew University is the top seed in the eight-team tournament. Richard Stockton is No. 2 and FDU-Florham is No. 3. Purchase College is the No. 6 seed. Brooklyn College and William Paterson University round out the field as the No. 7 and No. 8 seeds, respectively.

Hobart completed the regular season with an 11-7-1 overall record and is riding a four-match win streak. First-year Charlie Kelly, the Liberty League Rookie of the Year and first team selection, leads the Statesmen with 28 points and 12 goals. He has also chipped in four assists. Junior goalie Mike Lucas has played the majority of minutes in goal. He has a 6-7-1 record and is sporting a 1.39 goals against average and a .723 save percentage.

The Gators are 10-4-4 overall. Gustavo Trinidad leads the team with 25 points on nine goals and seven assists. Tim Madden has seen the most time in goal and has a 9-4-2 record. He is sporting a 0.96 goals against average and a .821 save percentage.
