Box Score GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College senior
Cam Miller scored two goals as the Statesmen downed Elmira 6-1 in an ECAC West game played tonight at The Cooler. No. 5/6 Hobart improved to 19-4-2 overall and 11-3-1 in the conference and earned a share of the ECAC West regular season title.
The Statesmen have now finished their regular season schedule and secured the No. 2 seed for the ECAC West tournament. Both Hobart and Utica finished the year with 23 points and tied for first in the league, but the Pioneers hold the tiebreak over the Statesmen, going 2-1 against them this year. As the No. 2 seed, Hobart earns a bye to the conference semifinals which will be played on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. The Statesmen and will host the the highest remaining seed from the quarterfinals.
Hobart's 19 wins this season rank third on the program list for wins in a season. Senior

Nick Broadwater played all 60 minutes in goal for Hobart and finished with 27 saves.
Elmira falls to 10-15-0 this year and 5-10-0 in conference play. The Statesmen won all three of their meetings with the Soaring Eagles this season.
Five of the game's seven goals were scored in the opening period. Elmira struck first just 43 seconds in. Andrew Ciampichini tallied his sixth goal of the year on a shot from right in front after a pass from Josh Burnell.
The Statesmen responded with four goals to round out the first period. Salituro notched his 14th of the year, lifting a shot into the top right corner after a pass from O'Neill at 2:16. First-year

Mac Olson fired a shot on goal, and the rebound bounced to Gamache who buried it for his eighth tally this year. Just 1:22 later, after quick shots by sophomore
Tommy Fiorentino and Traversa were saved, a rebound came to Miller who found the back of the net to make it 3-1. Miller scored again, his fourth goal this season, at 17:11 to stretch the lead to three. On a Soaring Eagles power play, Miller stole the puck from an Elmira player as he was trying to enter the zone. He broke away for a one-on-one with the Soaring Eagles' goalie Matt Milne, and beat him with a backhanded shot.
The second period proved to be scoreless, but the Statesmen added two more goals in the third. O'Neill chipped in a shorthanded goal after a pass from Traversa with 2:18 left in the game. It was O'Neill's third goal. Senior

Milne played the first period for Elmira and made 10 saves. Ryan deMelo came in for the second and third periods and stopped 17 shots.
The Statesmen killed all nine of the Soaring Eagles power plays, and converted once on their seven chances. Hobart finished with a 33-28 lead in shots.
