Six members of the William Smith College field hockey team secured a spot on the 2013 Liberty League All-Academic Team.
To be eligible for All-Academic honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2. The following Herons earned a place on the team:

- Morgan Atanasio, Sr., Movement Science
- Madison Finn, So., Undeclared
- Margaret McConnell, Sr., Psychology and Women's Studies
- Erin Miller, So., Chemistry
- Kendra Napierala, Jr., English
- Sarah Tompson, Jr., English
Both Atanasio and McConnell are three-time all-academic honorees while Napierala is making her second straight appearance on the team. Additionally, McConnell earned an NCAA postgraduate scholarship. She is just the 11th Heron to earn the prestigious award.
The Herons finished 2013 with a 15-5 overall record. William Smith advanced to the Liberty League tournament championship game and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship for its third consecutive and 21st overall NCAA tournament appearance.
