The 15th ranked William Smith College field hockey team will host the 2014 William Smith Classic this weekend. The Herons will welcome Lebanon Valley, Manhattanville and St. Lawrence to Geneva for four matches.

Hannah Wood leads William Smith (4-1) in points (17) and goals (8). Wood, who was named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week for the second time this season on Monday, was also named the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Co-Rookie of the Week. She is riding a three game scoring streak and is coming off her first career hat trick Tuesday night against Nazareth. Sophomore

Catherine Hare, has seen the majority of the action in net for the Herons posting a 1.31 goals against average and a .806 save percentage. She has recorded three straight shutouts and was also honored by the ECAC this week as the Mid-Atlantic Defensive Player of the Week.

The Dutchmen (5-0) come to Geneva after defeating then 20th ranked Lynchburg 3-1 on Saturday, Sep. 13. Lebanon Valley is led offensively by Lyndee Sheaffer who has recorded 13 points (6g, 1a). Lauren Brumbach, Maddie Fox, and Kelsey Heck share team high honors with two assists a piece. Kendra Moll has started all five games in goal for Lebanon Valley recording 23 saves and posting a 1.37 goals against average and a .793 save percentage.

The Valiants (2-6) enter the weekend's action after dropping a 5-4 game Wednesday night to Eastern Connecticut State. Kristen Savage leads Manhattanville with 12 points (6g), while Rylee McGuire has recorded a team-high two assists. Meghan Hughes and Kaitlin Halloran have split time in net for the Valiants.Â

The Saints (2-3) will make their first of two trips to McCooey Field this weekend. St. Lawrence is coming off a 5-0 victory over Wells on Saturday, Sep. 13. Kara Pelosi leads the Saints with nine points (4g, 1a). Anna Hughes and Camille Burger each have a team-high two assists. Kim Haab has started every game in goal for St. Lawrence posting a 3.86 goals against average and a .667 save percentage while making 26 saves.

William Smith will take on Manhattanville in the tournament's first game with action slated to start at 11 a.m. The Dutchmen will take on the Saints at 2 p.m. On Sunday, St. Lawrence will face the Valiants at 11 a.m. while the Herons will take Lebanon Valley at 2 p.m.
