Five Statesmen earned a point as the Hobart College soccer team notched a 3-1 victory over Geneseo in a non-league game played in Geneseo, New York, this afternoon. The Statesmen improve to 5-2-0 overall, while the Knights fall to 3-3-1 this season.

Hobart was the first to get on the board as junior
Jacob Fox headed the ball into the net off of a corner kick sent in by junior
Tyler Terens in the 38th minute. Fox shares the team lead with three goals this year. Five minutes later, junior
Marco Ronning converted on a penalty shot from 11 yards out to put the Statesmen up, 2-0, in the last two minutes of first half play. Ronning leads the Statesmen with nine points on two goals and a team-high five assists this season.
Starting off the second half, junior
Zico Gaeffke received a long ball to the left corner and crossed it to first-year
Adrian Colmenares. Colmenares chested the ball in from close range in the 51st minute for the Statesmen's third goal. It was his third goal this fall.
The Knights responded sixteen minutes later with their only goal of the day. Iannone dribbled through three defenders starting from 10 yards out and delivered a high ball that bounced off the cross bar and landed behind the goal line for a final.
The Knights finished with a 17-9 advantage in shots and a 7-4 edge in corners. Senior
Mike Lucas played all 90 minutes in goal for Hobart and finished with seven saves. Logan Calvey had two saves in goal for Geneseo.

The Statesmen will be in action on Sept. 27, when they travel to St. Lawrence for their Liberty League opener. The game is set to begin at 2 p.m.
