Box Score COLLEGVILLE, PA-The ninth-ranked William Smith College field hockey team dropped to 1-1 on the season after losing to No. 13 Ursinus 6-1 this afternoon. 
 
The Bears jumped out to a lead in the sixth minute on a Danielle Strong goal and held a 2-0 lead at the half. They proceeded to score the first three goals of the second half.  
 
First-year Maura Moran scored her first collegiate goal off of a penalty stroke in the 67th minute to make the score 5-1. Senior goalie Catherine Hare made a career-high 14 saves on the afternoon while junior Madison Finn added her first career defensive save.
 
The Herons will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 10 when they face SUNY Geneseo in a non-conference contest at 7 p.m. at McCooey Field.
