GENEVA, N.Y.—The No. 15 Hobart College soccer team scored the first three goals of the game to top RIT 3-1 in a Liberty League match, the regular season finale for both teams, played on Cozzens Field this afternoon. With the win, the Statesmen extend their streak to seven and improve to 13-2-2 overall and 5-1-2 in conference play.

The Tigers finish their season with a 7-10-0 overall record and a 4-4-0 mark in the Liberty League. Hobart has clinched the No. 2 seed in the Liberty League tournament and will take on the No. 3 seed, Skidmore, on Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 1:30 p.m. St. Lawrence has secured the No. 1 seed and will host the No. 4 seeded Union for its semifinal game.

Derrick Acheampong logged two goals in Hobart's win today. Senior goalie
Tyler Serafine finished with two saves. Acheampong's first goal came on the very first shot of the game. Junior
Joe Busuttil sent a cross from the right side to find Acheampong streaking in on the left. He fired his shot home for his seventh goal of the year.

Tyler Niles logged his third goal of the year. After a Hobart free kick and a flurry of action in front of the goal, Niles was able to settle the ball and tap a low shot over the goal line to make it 2-0. Acheampong struck again in the 65th minute. This time sophomore
Zach Poretz blasted a shot that was blocked by a Tiger defender, but the rebound bounced right to Acheampong, who buried his shot for his team-leading eighth goal of the season.

In the 68th minute, Sean Heinze put the Tigers on the board. Tyler Hatch dished to Heinze on his left, who then sent a low rolling shot into the back of the net.

The Statesmen finished with a slight 11-10 edge in shots and a 6-5 advantage in corners. Peter Cinibulk played all 90 minutes and had one save for RIT.
