GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College ice hockey team notched three third period goals to defeat visiting Neumann University 4-1 in an ECAC West game played at The Cooler. The Statesmen improve to 2-0-0 in league play and 2-1-1 overall.

Brad Robbins notched two goals in the win. Senior goaltender
Lino Chimienti made 21 saves in goal for the Statesmen. Neumann goalie Matt Gibney took the loss and made 31 stops. It was the Knights (3-1-0, 1-1-0 ECAC West) first loss of the season.

Neumann got on the board first at 6:23 into the first period. Collin O'Neill's shot just crossed the goal line before it bounced outside of the goal, but it was enough to give the Knights a 1-0 advantage.

Early in the second period, junior
Nick Bingaman came inches away from tying things up, clanging a shot off the pipe. With 2:33 left in the second period, Olson evened things up for Hobart. Junior
Carl Belizario carried the puck into Hobart's offensive zone, on a breakaway with Olson, Belizario wound up to fake a shot, but then dished to his left. Olson buried his shot for his third goal this season. The Statesmen built up the momentum at the end of the second period, and finished with a 14-3 advantage in shots in the middle 20 minutes.

With 9:56 on the clock, it was Olson's turn to miss by inches, ringing a shot off the pipe. But seconds later, with 9:51 left in regulation, Robbins found the back of the net right after a faceoff win by senior
Ben Gamache to give Hobart the lead. Bingaman made it 3-1 with 5:32 remaining. His first goal of the season came off a pass from classmate
Bobby Sokol and slid just inside the left post. The Knights pulled Gibney with 2:01 on the clock, while on a power play for a two man advantage for 51 seconds, but instead Robbins finished things off with an empty net goal for Hobart with 49 seconds left.

The Statesmen logged a 35-22 advantage in shots. Hobart went 0-for-3 on the power play and killed all four of Neumann's power play attempts.

The Statesmen will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 13, when they travel to take on Nazareth in an ECAC West contest in Rochester, N.Y. Opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m.Â
