Hobart College first-year
Derrick Acheampong scored two goals and assisted on a third as the Statesmen soccer team defeated Ithaca College 3-0 this afternoon in a non-league game played in Ithaca, N.Y. Hobart is now 6-1-1 overall.

Just 1:35 into the match, Acheampong put the Statesmen on the scoreboard with his second goal of the season. In the 69th minute, he struck again this time off a crossing pass from sophomore
Nick Dosky. Just 1:43 later, Senior
TJ Kaszubski stretched the Statesmen lead to three with his first goal of the season off a pass from the corner of the box from Acheampong. Acheampong now leads Hobart with three goals and seven points this season.

Ithaca is now 2-5-1 overall. Hobart finished with a 20-6 advantage in shots and a 4-3 edge in corners. Statesmen senior goalie
Tyler Serafine played all 90 minutes in goal and made five saves to earn his third straight and fourth total shutout of the season. Bomber keeper Zach Jacobsen played the entire match and made nine saves.

Hobart will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 2, when it travels to take on Rensselaer in a Liberty League match at 4 p.m.
