William Smith College first-year
Kristina Camaj netted the game-winning goal in the 87th minute to lead the No. 10 Heron soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Emory in the Bob Baptista Invitaitonal in Wheaton, Ill. William Smith is now 1-1 after its opening weekend.

First-year goalie
Kaileen Murray stopped all five shots she faced to secure her first shutout as a Heron in her first collegiate start. After a scoreless first half, Camaj broke through for William Smith with her first collegiate goal with just 3:55 left in regulation. The game winner came off an assist from junior
Kara Shue.

The Herons finished with an 18-6 advantage in shots and an 8-6 lead in corners. Liz Arnold played all 90 minutes in goal for the Eagles (1-2) and finished with seven saves.

William Smith will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 12 when it hosts Messiah for its home opener on Cozzens Field at 1 p.m.
