#3/6 Statesmen extend win streak to five with 2-1 win over Salve Regina

The Hobart College hockey team edged Salve Regina tonight 2-1 in its final game of the 2016 Vineyard Classic tonight in Oak Bluffs, Mass. The Statesmen are now 12-2-2 overall.
 
The Seahawks scored first, when Shaun Patry took advantage of a power play in the first period. Hobart sophomore Tyler Wolf tied things up in the middle period 12:05 in on a power play and after a feed from junior Carl Belizario. Sophomore Vincent Russo sent home the game winner with 3:56 left in regulation.

Sophomore Frank Oplinger played all 60 minutes and finished with 37 saves. Blake Wojtalaplayed 58:19 and made 35 stops. The Statesmen were 1-for-2 on the power play, while the Seahawks went 1-for-4. 
 
The Statesmen will be back in action on Jan. 22, when they host Nazareth for an ECAC West game at 7:30 p.m. in The Cooler.
