SCHENECTADY, N.Y.—Hobart College sophomore
Luke Ruddy scored a game-high 16 points and grabbed a game-high seven rebounds, but Union College shot nearly 50 percent from the floor in a 74-65 Liberty League men's basketball win over the Statesmen.

Ruddy was 6-of-9 from the floor, including 2-of-3 from 3-point range, and 2-of-2 at the free throw line.
Jamal Lucas added 12 points and
Colin Dougherty scored 12 points. The Statesmen committed a season-low six turnovers, but were outrebounded 38-33.

Union's Deshon Burgess matched Ruddy with 16 points and collected a team-high six boards. Wade McNamara scored 12 points and Zachary Bouton notched 10. The trio was a combined 7-of-13 from behind the 3-point arc. The entire Dutchmen team was 11-of-22 from deep and 25-of-51 from the field.

After a pair of Ruddy free throws cut the Union lead to 10 with under eight minutes to go, the Dutchmen used a 10-2 run to build their largest lead of the game, 40-22. Hobart was able to cut into that lead by finishing the half with a 7-2 run, going into the break down 42-29.

Union maintained a double digit for most of the second half. The Statesmen weren't able to get their deficit down to single digits until Ruddy hit both of his 3-pointers in the final 10 seconds of the contest.

Hobart will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 29, when the Statesmen host Skidmore. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.
