The William Smith College soccer team held the No. 1 spot in both the NSCAA and D3soccer.com polls this week. It's the seventh week in a row the Herons have been the top team in the D3soccer.com poll, and third straight week at No. 1 in the coaches' poll.

William Smith set a program record with its 15th consecutive win to start the season after a 4-0 victory at Union on Saturday. Â The Herons are one of only two unbeaten, untied teams left in Division III women's soccer.

The Herons rank fifth in the nation in scoring offense (4.0) and points per game (11.13). William Smith is sixth in assists per game (3.13), eighth in total assists (47) and ninth in total points (167). The Herons ranks 10th in goals against average (0.27) and 11th in total goals (60).

Veronica Romines leads the nation with a 0.10 goals against average and is 10th in save percentage (.929). Senior
Kara Shue leads the Herons with 33 points on 11 goals and 11 assists. She ranks eighth in Division III in total assists and 11th in assists per game (0.73).

The Herons face RIT in their final regular contest on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 3 p.m. on Cozzens Field. The Tigers play a non-league game at the University of Rochester tonight. Prior to facing the Yellowjackets, RIT has a 7-7-1 overall record. The Tigers are 3-4-0 in the Liberty League. Anka Parzych leads the team with 11 points on five goals and an assist. Kelly Rogers has played the most minutes in goal. She's sporting a 1.50 goals against average, a .795 save percentage and a 5-4-0 record.
