WOOSTER, Ohio—The College of Wooster's Reece Dupler and Dan Fanelly combined for 40 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists to lead the Scots to an 85-72 victory over Hobart College in the E.M. "Mose" Hole/Wooster Kiwanis Classic.
Wooster got a game-high 21 points from Dupler, including 3-of-4 shooting from beyond the 3-point arc. Fanelly chipped in 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting, also making 3-of-4 from deep. Danyon Hempy, Spencer Williams, and Milt Davis also hit double figures with 14, 12, and 11 points, respectively.
Hobart sophomore guard
Colin Dougherty scored a team-high 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field and 7-of-8 at the free throw line. Junior forward
Luke Ruddy added 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting with a 3-pointer and a perfect 2-for-2 at the line. He also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Sophomore guard

Tucker Lescoe also reached double digits in the scoring column with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Wooster scored 10 straight points to start a 15-3 that led to a 19-7 lead midway through the opening half. The Scots pushed their advantage to as many as 18 before Hobart rattled off 10 consecutive points. Lescoe started the charge with one of his two 3-pointers in the game. Ruddy followed with back-to-back buckets and sophomore forward
Matt Walsh capped the surge with a 3-pointer. The run made it a 32-24 game just over three minute before halftime.
Wooster ended the half on an 8-2 run, carrying a 40-26 lead into the break. Dupler led all scorers with 13 first half points. Ruddy paced the Statesmen with 10 points.
In the second half, the Scots shot 48 percent from the floor and maintained a double digit lead throughout. The Statesmen also shot well after the break, connecting on 55 percent, but couldn't get any closer to their hosts than 11. Lucas' 3-pointer with 56 seconds to go made it an 81-70 game, but Wooster went 4-for-4 from the line down the stretch to seal the victory.
Hobart (5-3) will close out the classic against Ohio Wesleyan (6-4) at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 30.
