ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.—The William Smith College basketball team jumped out to a 15-0 lead on the way to a 61-39 win over Bard College, improving to 10-0 all-time against the Raptors.

Mia Morrison led three Herons in double figures with 13 points. Junior
Gabrielle Eure added 11 points and
Kendra Quinn-Moultrie chipped in 10 points. William Smith dominated the glass, outrebounding Bard 51-35. Quinn-Moultrie and Morrison led the Herons with nine rebounds apiece. William Smith also blocked a season-high seven shots in the game, including three each by Morrison and junior
Courtney Chase. Quinn-Moultrie finished with as many steals (4) as the Raptors accumulated as a team.

Bard (5-17, 0-13) got game-highs of 17 points and 10 rebounds from Tytravia Riley.

William Smith's fast start featured balanced scoring as six different players produced points in the opening quarter. The Herons shut out the Raptors through the first nine minutes of the game and led 18-2 after the first quarter. William Smith took a 28-10 lead into halftime.

In the second half, the Herons stretched their lead to as many as 29 early in the fourth quarter and cruised to victory.

William Smith shot 46 percent from the floor while holding Bard to 24 percent shooting.

The 39 points are the fewest allowed by the Herons this season.

The win keeps William Smith in the hunt for a spot in the four-team Liberty League Tournament. The Herons are 9-11 overall, 7-5 in conference play, a game behind St. Lawrence and Union, which are tied for third place. William Smith's four remaining conference games are against the four teams ahead of it in the league standings.

The Herons return to Bristol Gym to host first place Clarkson (17-4, 10-2) on Friday, Feb. 12. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
