GENEVA, N.Y.—Saint Joseph's University built an early lead and never looked back on its way to a 13-5 Northeast Conference victory over Hobart College at Boswell Field this afternoon. The Hawks won for the third straight time to improve to 6-2 on the season, while the Statesmen had a three-game win streak snapped and fall to 5-4 overall.
Junior attackman Mike Rastivo had a game-high five points on three goals and two assists for SJU (1-0 in NEC). Senior attackman Pat Swanick (2g,1a) and senior midfielder Kevin Forster (1g,2a) each added three points. Junior goalie T.J. Jones saved the first six shots he faced and played 54 minutes on his way to nine saves on 11 shots. Sophomore Pat Dallon played the final six minutes turning back two of the five shots he saw.

While the final stats were fairly even—shots were 35-34 and ground balls were 23-21 both for SJU

The Statesmen looked tight on offense in the first quarter, turning the ball over on two of their first three possessions. Meanwhile, the Hawks put shots on frame during their first four possessions.
Jackson Brown saved the first two, but sophomore attackman Jason Kelly and Rastivo scored 30 seconds apart for a 2-0 lead just short of seven minutes into the game. SJU scored twice more before the quarter was up, while Jones saved the only shot on goal Hobart made in the frame.
Saint Joseph's extended its run to five straight goals midway through the second quarter. Junior midfielder
Max Romm got Hobart on the board with 45 seconds remaining in the first half. The Hawks came out of halftime on fire, rattling off seven straight goals across the third and four quarters. SJU led 12-1 before the Statesmen were able to end a 23-minute scoring drought. Donnelly scored his first with 7:35 remaining in the contest. About two minutes later, Jones turned over his crease to Dallon.
Sophomore attackman Chris Blewitt scored his second of the game to make it 13-2 with 5:21 to go. Hobart scored three times in the final 74 seconds to wrap up the scoring. Donnelly started the run with his eighth of the season. Sophomore midfielder
