The William Smith College soccer team moved up one spot to No. 4 in the nation in this week's United Soccer Coaches' poll. The Herons also moved up to No. 4 in the D3soccer.com poll.
 
William Smith is 12-1-0 overall and 7-0-0 in the Liberty League. The Herons are riding a nine-match win streak and have earned six straight shutouts. William Smith is ranked 10th in the nation in goals against average (0.31) and win percentage (.923). The Herons are also 13th in Division III in shutout percentage (.692).
 
Senior Evie Manning leads the Herons with 24 points on 10 goals and four assists. Junior Megan Barwick has dished out a team-high six assists and added five goals for 16 points. Junior goalie Veronica Romines ranks 10th in Division III with a 0.26 goals against average. She has an .842 save percentage and six shutouts.
 
The Herons travel to Vassar for a Liberty League game on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 2 p.m. The Brewers are 8-3-3 overall and 4-1-1 in the conference.  Ashley Ferry leads the team with 20 points on seven goals and six assists. Fiona Walsh has played the most minutes in goal. She's sporting a 0.76 goals against average, an .833 save percentage and five shutouts.
 
William Smith will then play at Farmingdale State on Sunday, Oct. 22 at 1 p.m. The Rams are 9-5-2 overall. Farmingdale takes on Western Connecticut State tonight and Sarah Lawrence on Saturday before facing the Herons. Taylor Howard leads the team with 21 points on 10 goals and an assist. Daniella Ford has played the most minutes in goal. She has a 1.12 goals against average, an .805 save percentage and two shutouts.
