Hobart College first-year guard
Dan Masino was named the Liberty League Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week by the conference office this afternoon. The Fairport native led the Statesmen to an 87-75 season opening win over No. 19 St. John Fisher on Nov. 15.

Colin Dougherty earned a spot on the Liberty League Weekly Honor Roll.

Masino scored a team-high 19 points in his debut for the Statesmen, shooting 8-of-11 from the floor, including 2-of-4 from beyond the arc, and made his lone free throw attempt. He also handed out four assists and shared game-high honors with three steals.

Dougherty added 17 points, six assists and three steals against the Cardinals. He was 5-of-10 from the floor, 1-for-1 from beyond the 3-point arc, and 6-of-8 from the free throw line. It was Hobart's first win over a nationally-ranked opponent since beating No. 21 Scranton in the first round of the 2014 NCAA Championship.

The Statesmen are home again at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21, when they host No. 16 Rochester. Admission is free, but fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Geneva Center of Concern Food Bank.
