The Herons completed the regular season with a 17-8 overall record, a seven-win improvement over last season. William Smith went 11-5 in conference play, finishing second in the standings.

RIT is also 17-8 overall with a 10-6 league record. The Tigers are the tournament's No. 3 seed. RIT swept the regular season series against the Herons, winning 71-59 on its home floor and taking a 79-50 win in Bristol Gym last Wednesday.
