The Hobart College hockey team, the No. 3 seed in the ECAC West Tournament, will travel to Rye, N.Y., to face No. 2 Manhattanville in a semifinal on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m.
 
The Statesmen topped No. 6 seed Stevenson in the first round 6-2 in The Cooler on Wednesday night. The top two seeds in the tournament earned a bye to the semifinals. No. 1 Utica will host No. 5 Neumann in the other semifinal on Saturday.
 
Hobart is 18-4-4 overall. Senior Nick Bingaman leads the team with 27 points and 17 goals. Sophomore Tanner Shaw has handed out a team-high 16 assists. Junior goaltender Frank Oplinger has played the most minutes and is sporting a .920 save percentage, a 2.49 goals against average and a 9-4-2 record.
 
The Statesmen sit atop the ECAC West in scoring defense (2.38 ga/gm) and on the penalty kill (86.8%). Hobart also ranks second in the league in scoring offense (4.00 g/gm). The Statesmen have met the Valiants twice this year. Manhattanville came out with the win both times by a score of 5-3.
 
The Valiants bring a 14-10-1 overall record into postseason play. Manhattanville wrapped up conference action with a 10-4-0 mark. Matt Lippa leads the team with 24 points and 15 goals. Tanner Hicks has earned a team-high 13 assists. Tyler Feaver has played the most minutes in goal. He's sporting a .894 save percentage, a 3.02 goals against average and a 12-8-1 record.
